Don't Mess With Wang

When a multi-million dollar corporation poisoned his neighborhood, this guy did what you would expect any illiterate Chinese peasant to do. He studied the law for 16 years and led a successful lawsuit against them...

The farmer, Wang Enlin who had dropped out of primary school at the third grade, started reading through a dozen law books with the help of a dictionary.
At the time, he did not have money to buy the books, so he spent day after day reading the books at the local book store and copying the relevant information by hand, according to the man. In return, he would give bags of free corn to the shopkeeper for letting him stay there.
After 16 years, Wang won a huge settlement for himself and his neighboring farmers and has since gained millions of supporters over the internet for his heroic work.

We dug up some old footage of Mr. Wang from his days at the Bushwood Country Club. "Hey Wang! This place is restricted. So, don't tell anyone you're Jewish."

The Company You Keep

Buffalo Public School teachers should pay close attention to the candidates in the 2017 Mayoral race in the city of Buffalo. Incumbent Byron Brown has basically kept himself removed from the schools. He maintains a tepid relationship with local developer Carl Paladino. Professional and courteous, yet not too close.

The same cannot be said for potential challenger Mark Schroeder. Here is a news release from Paladino's "Get Out the Vote" Rally on April 29th, four days before Paladino narrowly defeated 18 year old Austin Harrig in last Spring's School Board election...

PLEASE JOIN THE PALADINO CAMPAIGN AT THE GET OUT THE VOTE RALLY ON FRIDAY APRIL 29 FROM 5:00-8:00PM AT THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS IN SOUTH BUFFALO.

This is a complimentary admission rally courtesy of Carl Paladino.

The Paladino campaign will welcome special guests Board Member At-Large Patti Pierce and City of Buffalo Comptroller Mark J.F. Schroeder.

To be fair to Schroeder, this was before Paladino's controversial submission to Artvoice magazine. However, at the time Schroeder was well aware of Carl's contentious relationship with Buffalo teachers and their union.

Teachers: Mark Schroeder will tell you how much respect he has for you and your profession. However, actions speak much louder than words. You are well aware of Carl's attitude towards Buffalo teachers and the teacher's union specifically. Mark Schroeder was Paladino's Honorary Chairman for the aforementioned event, and the two spoke of each other during the event at length in glowing terms. I know this because by the time they finished singing each other's praises, the free food; (AKA the reason I attended), had begun to get cold.

Schroeder's support for Paladino should be viewed as a slap in the face to all Buffalo teachers. In some people's naive eyes, it is the teachers who are the problem. There are many ignorant people who consider the Buffalo teachers as "2nd stringers" to their suburban counterparts. They don't understand the reason charter schools are successful is because they handpick their students and systematically toss out the ones who perform poorly on state exams. They have no idea what the teachers in the city have to deal with everyday in the classroom. I've worked as a sub in both the Buffalo Public Schools and charter schools.

I can tell you the charter school teachers are treated horribly by their administration. They have no rights, get paid less, and are ruled by intimidation. And most of the people making the classroom decisions in those schools, have never spent a day in the classroom. They are business people who hide in offices all day and take two hour lunches while their teachers do more with less.

There's an old saying: "You judge someone by the company they keep." And I believe Schroeder (and the same can be said for Assemblyman Mickey Kearns) have chosen Paladino and his wallet over the rights of hard working teachers. But with that support comes the anti-union politics that it encompasses. Vote for whomever you want in 2017. I do not work for Brown in any capacity and am actively seeking a 3rd candidate willing to represent the working poor in this city. However, I believe it is important for you to know which candidates are looking out for the best interests of Buffalo Public School teachers, and which ones are not. Politicians supporting Paladino today could be reaching into your pensions tomorrow.

2017 Buffalo Mayoral Race Heating Up

The 2017 mayor's race should be a hotly contested one. According to the Buffalo News, four early names have popped up as potential candidates: current mayor Byron Brown, Darius Pridgen, Michael Chapman, and South Buffalo's Mark Schroeder. Most expect the Democratic field to be reduced to two. Schroeder and one of the others mentioned.
The News is too politically correct to say it, but the biggest factor in this race will undoubtedly be race. For Mark Schroeder to have a chance at winning, he'll need at least 90% of the South Buffalo vote and hope for a big turnout there. Unfortunately for Mark, South Buffalo has a long history of being divided politically (about 35 years to be exact). When James Keane ran for County Executive a few years back, his South Buffalo enemies came out in full force to back the unknown Chris Collins. A sizable South Buffalo group helped Brown defeat Michael Kearns in a previous mayoral contest a few years back. I couldn't tell you the last South Buffalo resident to win a city wide primary. I know Kevin Horrigan and Mark Catenzarro attempted it and were stabbed in the back by some of their neighbors in exchange for menial patronage jobs
The African American voters stick together. The Irish historically do not. For Mark Schroeder to be competitive, he'll have to try and reach out beyond the South Buffalo political clique. Word is some people outside of this clique are organizing this time. Reportedly, plans are in the works for a campaign office on South Park or Seneca Street (areas long forgotten by the South Buffalo political clique). The group's leaders realize that sitting back and supporting the latest South Buffalo candidate may not be in their best interest. They note, many of Schroeder's financial backers stem from the surrounding suburbs. People with no vested interest in supporting the working poor. The working poor feel they may have more in common with Pridgen's supporters than the South Buffalo ex-patriots who will be funding Schroeder's campaign. It will be interesting to see whether Mark acknowledges this group of alienated voters or simply takes their support for granted. Any South Buffalo candidate faces the difficult task of uniting a divided base in a city wide race. It's too early to tell, as countless scenarios could play out before November 2017. Stay tuned.

McDonald's Worker Fired for Cruel Homeless Prank

Just when the man comes within reach, the unidentified employee is seen splashing a cup of water on him to the amusement of a recording customer.

I don't know who I'm most embarrassed for in the latest viral video. A McDonald's worker offers a homeless man a free sandwich through the drive thru window and subsequently throws a cup of water in his face. Of course, the whole incident is filmed by the worker's friend from his car.

I suppose the worker deserves to be most ashamed for obvious reasons. Thankfully, McDonald's fired this imbecile the day after the video surfaced on YouTube.

But then again, the moron filming it from the car A.) Thought it was funny. B.) Couldn't wait to post this senseless video online. Clearly, for thinking something like this to be funny, he has to be classified as a complete and total loser.

The bronze medal for embarrassment has to go to the four parents responsible for creating these two savages. When it comes to teaching their children right from wrong, they failed miserably. I'm not going to show the video, as it's not worth viewing. I do hope assault charges are filed in this case. Also, hoping someone from the neighborhood gets a hold of these two punks and teaches them a lesson.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/mcdonalds-worker-fired-after-cruel-homeless-prank_56435661e4b08cda3486d10d

Hillary the ultimate Panderer

Hillary Clinton has proven once again that she will say anything if she thinks it will get her votes. In the latest example, she panders to women in general. She points the finger at the Republicans in Congress for ignoring a "symbolic" resolution regarding the pay disparity between male and female athletes...

First of all, the US Congress has nothing to do with FIFA, the private governing body of international soccer. Just like the NFL and NBA, FIFA can pay it's athletes whatever they want to. The fact is: Internationally, men's soccer brings in much more money in advertising and TV revenue than the women's game. It's like saying a WNBA player should be paid the same as Lebron James because they try equally hard. People pay big money to watch Lebron play and cable companies pay big money for the right to televise his games. It costs 50 cents to go to a WNBA game and NOBODY is watching them on television.

Senator Lamar Alexander correctly points out that the US Congress has bigger issues to concern itself with than one in which they have no control...

“We have a budget to pass. We have a debt crisis to fix. We have an education system that needs reform,” Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) said, as reported by Huffington Post. “That’s what the United States Senate ought to be spending time on, rather than offering opinions and resolutions about a private international entity and how they should award prizes.”

Exactly. And Clinton knows this too. But why let the facts get in the way of a cheap opportunity to make herself look like a champion for women? She is what she is. A liar and a fraud. And fortunately, I believe even most democrats are beginning to see that.

Interesting traveling companion

View image on Twitter

A California man found an "interesting" way to circumvent the car pool lane. He traveled with the most interesting man in the world. Unfortunately for him, the state trooper who pulled him over was not impressed by his famous passenger.

The cardboard passenger was quoted as saying, "I don't usually wear a seat belt. Mainly because I'm non-living and made of wood. Stay thirsty my friends."

No word on whether the Bartles and Jaymes losers were in the backseat discussing marketing strategies. Thank you for your support.

New York Lawmakers shamelessly seek pay raise

They're at it again. The crooks who run New York State are trying to give themselves a raise in typical underhanded fashion...

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York lawmakers say a commission should be appointed to study whether they deserve a pay hike.
The proposal, which is included in the state budget, calls for the creation of a seven-member panel to examine and recommend whether to increase the legislative salary, which is now $79,500 per year.

And I wonder whose going to be appointed that commission? Friends and cronies of the crooks themselves, of course. How come they don't create a commission to study the need for term limits? Once these bozos get elected, they think the job is theirs for life. These were not intended to be life long positions.
Hey lawmakers: We know what you're up to, and I hope this blog post finds you. Any raises (no matter how small) will be met with great opposition from the taxpayers (Oh, by the way, the people who pay your salaries). We don't need you and your job is so useless you could be replaced in 24 hours by monkeys. You knew what the job paid when you accepted it. If you're not happy with the pay, please go to the private sector and find out how much your "talents" are worth. That would be zero. All public polls are against you getting Jack Squat. So please go find the nearest cliff in Albany and jump off it!
